The basis of figurative art is realism, it is the artist's recreation of a person or object that represents their vision of the phenomenon. Figurative art is technically art of any form that depicts a real life image. Figurative art can be created in many styles. Although figurative art is today most commonly used as a term for works of art that include animals or human beings, the term is also used to distinguish between abstract and symbolic art. One of the main characteristics of figurative art is its ability to represent the real subject and cultural values of the time when the work was created.
